How to Make a Challenging Law Subject Enjoyable

Respect, stability and success- a career in law offers it all. To make sure you can achieve all of this, you need to get through the long and challenging years in one of the best law schools in India. If you are already studying or are planning to, you might know that the legal field has a reputation for being tough. Thanks to its complicated subjects. So, how do you ensure you do not exhaust yourself while studying one of the many subjects in this school? We are here to help you out. We have listed down a few simple yet effective ways to make a boring subject fun. Let’s get started.

1. Become a storyteller

Studying various laws is tiresome. But, you can make it enjoyable by making your own story, imagining it or even relating a recent event to it. For instance, let’s consider you are studying property law. Start creating a story where this type of law can be used. And, by a story, we mean the characters, their background, location and even the time. Imagining such scenarios will help you retain a particular topic in a better manner.

2. ‘What would your hero do?’

Well, this technique is not just limited to a law subject, but any problematic situation in your life. All you need to do is, ask yourself, “what would your hero do in this particular situation?” Putting yourself into someone’s shoes will help you get a fresh and broad perspective and even boost your confidence.

3. Figure out your style of learning

Since childhood, we are taught that reading and writing excessively is the only way to learn something. But is it really? Probably, not. Every individual has a unique way of grasping things. Some might understand a particular topic by making notes about it, while others might remember better with a flowchart. By figuring out what works for you, the subject won’t seem difficult anymore.

Making up scenarios, thinking with a different perspective and discovering your learning style will help you enjoy what you learn. This is our unconventional list of studying law in one of the top law colleges in India. We hope this helps you out! Stay tuned with us to learn more about studying in a law college in Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, or any other city. Happy learning!

Time management tips for law school

So, you’ve been selected in one of the top 10 law schools in India. That’s amazing, congratulations! You are part of an elite group now. This group is as successful as they are busy. We are not trying to scare you, we are only trying to make you ready for the challenge ahead.  A law school has a very difficult and demanding curriculum. To be efficient, time management must be your forte. Now if you are good at it, there’s nothing as good as that. But, if you’re not,  don't worry, we’ve got your back! Here are a few simple tips for you to manage your time in law school and have a good academic as well as social life.

Have a weekly calendar
A monthly calendar can miss the necessary details and end up being a superficial one. A good solution here is to prepare a weekly calendar. All you will have to do is take some minutes off your weekend to prepare a weekly calendar. It will contain all the necessary details such as your classes, meeting a friend, watching a movie etc. Besides, it will be flexible to house last-minute changes.

Minimize distractions
Relaxation is necessary. Some distractions can help you relax and unwind. Though, not every distraction helps you relax. Gazing through several apps on your cell phone is certainly not one. Several such distractions make you unproductive. You will have to look into your daily activities for such distractions and minimize them. No one can do this for you.

Set micro-goals
Gigantic goals are difficult to accomplish. This is why, you should determine this huge goal and then break it down into micro-sized achievable goals. When you achieve the micro-goals you have set, you will have a sense of achievement. This will keep you motivated to accomplish your larger goals.

Define your responsibilities
You must have certain responsibilities as a son, a student, a friend and priorities associated with those responsibilities. You have to understand all the responsibilities you render. You have to define which responsibilities and which priorities are important. Make more time for the important ones and avoid the unimportant ones that don’t serve your benefit.

Life before appearing for a law admission test is really easy. But as they say easy choices, hard life, Hard choices, easy life. You have made a hard choice, which is going to lead in an easy life. We wish you have a great time at college and a successful career.

How to ace law school and have a good career

Law schools are difficult. The exams are tough and long, the books are heavy and dense, and the students are stressed and barely passing. No matter what your law schools ranking in India is, the curriculum is tough and demanding. In such a case, a student might ask how does he go from surviving law school to acing it? Here are a few tips a student can follow to ace law college and have a successful career.

Do what works for you

If there's one thing people love to give away freely, it is advice. They will tell you to make notes, don't make notes, give a lot of mock tests, revise every day, etc. The thing that you must understand here is you must follow the practice you have had before entering law school. You might have had own way of studying; sure it may need some changes with time, but you will figure that out on the run. So, follow your method and do what works for you.

Participate in Moot Courts

A moot court is a mock courtroom proceeding. There are several details that students aren't aware of such as rules followed inside the courtroom, how to make your points, what should be the tone of your voice while making those points, etc. A moot court will replicate the intricacies of a real courtroom and will provide students grooming for the environment.

Understand the approach

Subjects in law tend to necessitate a dynamic approach. Some subjects may require you to memorise various laws and case studies, while others may require a thorough understanding of the context. You will have to sit down and figure out the different approach that every subject demands and follow it accordingly.

Internship

A law college can be a point of time in your life when you are super busy. But, it would be a wise thing for you to sign up for an internship. Sure, it would be difficult to manage studies and internship together, but you will get hands-on experience. This experience will be invaluable in preparing you for your career as a lawyer. Besides, legal education is inefficient and ignores several vital aspects. For example, a student is not taught how to draft a memorial for a court, the system teaches IP law, but not what part of IP law to focus on to make a career?  Hence, to gain a better understanding of the practical aspects, a student needs to undergo an internship.

Take care of your health

Don't get so busy studying that you forget to take care of your health. At the end of the day, you are more likely to fetch good marks with a healthy body and a fresh mind than otherwise. Take small breaks, relax,  exercise, and have some good time with your friends.

Several best law colleges in India pose students with difficult challenges. These tips can come handy to excel in a law college and have a successful career.
